Itinerary to West Europe

On my way home to Indonesia, I made a stopover in West Europe - Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, and France. My flight was from JFK and transit in Frankfurt, Germany. I felt nervous due to the Paris Terrorist attack two weeks before my arrivals. However, I was not regret travel during those time. You will see the reason why on my other post.

These are all my itinerary and hopefully, it can help other travelers with their itinerary.

This is just sample to see how my itinerary looks like. You can download thru the link for each destination.
  1. Cologne & Dusseldorf, Germany (Link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bys9H9hPgFspdDNHYzl2TEJIUzA)
  2. Amsterdam, Netherlands (Link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bys9H9hPgFspekpHdDk3LTZZT3c)
  3. Bruges, Belgium (Link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bys9H9hPgFspXzJ4QzhhX2U2ekE)
  4. Ghent, Belgium (Link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bys9H9hPgFspdWQ0V2tDNzRTN3c)

There are several tips that might helpful for others:
  1. Download MAPS.ME for android or apple (Free). This map is really helpful especially if you do not buy any sim card like me. If you do buy sim card, then you can use google maps instead. remember to download each countries that you are going to visit on MAPS.ME
  2. Buy train ticket early thru BAHN.DE or THALYS. You can buy it like 90 days before your arrival. It is way cheaper such as from Dusseldorf to Amsterdam, the ticket costs only 19 Euro if you buy it ahead of time. However, you have to take the train at the time as shown in the ticket. If you buy regular ticket, you can take the train anytime as you like (NO TIME RESTRICTION)
  3. DO NOT BUY PARIS PASS - NOT WORTH THE MONEY. It is okay to buy the museum pass though. I will explain this on PARIS section.
  4. GET EURO thru ATM instead of changing at money changer in airport or bank. You will get more EURO thru ATM since they use the same rate as XE.COM. If you are in the United States, I recommend "High Yield Investor Checking Account" via Charles Schwab Bank. The account is free and no service fees. There is no ATM fee at all wherever you get the money.
  5. Bring your hotel, train, and flight reservations with you as the custom might request to see it when you entered the country. In my case is Frankfurt, Germany. The officer requested me to show all my reservations and luckily, I have it in my email and there is a free wifi at the airport.
  6. Download offline subway map for each cities that you are going since it will be helpful if you do not buy phone's SIM CARD.
